Designed, developed, and perfected by our engineers and the INTENSE Factory Racing team on the World Cup circuit to be the fastest downhill bike. The M1 Expert features Fox Performance suspension for smooth handling on rough terrains, TRP DH-R EVO brakes for reliable stopping power, and the SRAM GX drivetrain ensures seamless and efficient gear changes. During the initial development stages, the 6-link high pivot design allowed us to isolate, adjust and customize every element of the M1’s ride characteristics. Our goal was to design a bike that would excel in all DH conditions, on any track, and honor the name and racing pedigree of our original M1 frames that we produced in the 1990s. With the new M1 we’ve created a bike that can smash through the roughest terrain, generate speed, accelerate efficiently when pedaling and stay active under braking. EASY TO WORK ON, A MECHANIC’S DREAM In response to the feedback from our race mechanics, we prioritized ease of maintenance when designing the M1. Notable features include externally routed cables for convenient access and standardized 6mm Hex wrench compatibility for all hardware except one collet bolt. There are three 'captured' washers in the linkage hardware, meaning they stay in place and don't fall to the ground when re-installing that pivot bolt after a muddy rebuild. The M1 uses high-end Enduro bearings in all links and features an easy-to-maintain and durable threaded BB.

We’ve also strengthened specific areas of the frame to improve torsional stiffness, and with the help of FOX we’ve tuned the rear shock to perfection. Finding the balance of stiffness and flex is a fine art and for 2024 we’ve adjusted the carbon lay-up of the Primer to increase lateral stiffness, especially around the bottom bracket, whilst keeping it compliant horizontally for a comfortable ride feel. This has been achieved through a steeper seat tube angle, and longer reach and stack. VERSATILITY The Primer trail bike is the most versatile model in our range. With 140mm of rear travel and 150mm up front, we have designed a bike that is capable and balanced but also nimble and fun at the same time, giving you confidence on long, all-day rides, jumps, or laps in your local woods. FLIP CHIP ADJUSTMENT The Primer 29 has a 'Flip Chip' feature, allowing you to alter your bike's geometry between two positions. The High setting is best in technical terrain, while the Low is more suitable for flow and bike park-style riding. JS TUNED LINK We talk about JS suspension a lot here at INTENSE. JS stands for Jeff Steber (founder and CEO of INTENSE); simply put, it is a sophisticated suspension system that uses two counter-rotating links to connect the front and rear triangles of the bike. The links are precisely placed to separate the pedaling and braking forces from the suspension performance.

It’s Metal Over our long tenure from mountain biking’s awkward adolescence to its current anything-shreddy era, we’ve experimented with steel, aluminum and titanium—remember the Bow-Ti, the first superbike? Universal Derailleur Hanger The Rip­mo AF UDH fea­tures a UDH derailleur for max­i­mum future com­pat­i­bil­i­ty and moves to a 55mm chain line. The wider chain line allows for a stiffer chainstay. Modern Geometry With a steep, 76-degree seat tube angle and a rangy but not stratospheric reach, the Ripmo AF places riders centrally and upright over the bottom bracket. It makes for an efficient position that can go the long haul without placing too much weight on its slack, 64.9-degree headtube angle. A 44mm reduced-offset fork is more surefooted on steep descents and steadies high speeds. Better up, better down. DW Link Since 2005, we’ve part­nered with sus­pen­sion guru Dave Wea­gle on the dw-link sus­pen­sion plat­form. It pro­vides an unpar­al­leled com­bi­na­tion of climb­ing effi­cien­cy and down­hill per­for­mance, which has been proven repeat­ed­ly at the high­est lev­els of racing. Air & Coil Compatible The Ripmo AF is compatible with both coil and air shocks due to a more progressive leverage rate. It allows for coil’s linearity to thrive and we spec air shocks with tunes that provide pop without feeling too harsh. Long Dropper Post What’s better than a dropper post? A longer one. Our frames are designed to accommodate the longest dropper posts possible. Riders over 5’8 (or 173cm) can easily run a 185mm dropper post, while folks between 5’ and 5’8 (152cm - 172cm) can use a post 125mm or longer depending on inseam length.
